Saturday 27th January – The Mayor of Bournemouth’s Charity Burns Night at The Best Western Hotel Royale.
It was a great honour to sing for the Bournemouth Mayor’s Burns Night dinner – a big fund raising event. It was a long
and enjoyable evening. Some of us started at 5.30 with setting up the uniforms and music equipment, then returned at 8 pm to meet the Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Lawrence Williams and his
lovely wife.
Our programme followed the meal, with toasts and addresses in the traditional way, supported by fun and frolics provided by us in musical form, and topped by
Robert’s, ‘Roamin’ in the Gloaming’. We finished with a joist and heart felt ‘Auld Lang Syne’. Thank you all who attended, you all looked and sounded amazing!
