Wessex Chorus Summer Concert 2023
Congratulations to everyone involved in this wonderful charity concert at the Immanuel URC Southbourne. For every contribution a big THANK YOU!
The 35 members of our choir performed a magnificent summer concert programme to a sell-out audience of over 100 people. We performed music of all styles and genres, under the baton of our own Music Director: Martin Arthur. His energy was infectious giving the choir confidence and vigour to give their best performance yet.
The choir sang exceptionally well, giving a warm and sweet sound, and looked like they were enjoying themselves so much. The audience were given plenty of opportunity to participate, whether joining in with the singing or waving their arms in happiness and rhythm to the great variety of songs and music. A welcome refreshment break in the interval gave a chance for socialising and enjoying the
home prepared and cooked goodies - with lashings of teas, coffees, and juices. The second half was even more fun than the first and the choir happily sang birthday wishes to two of the audience and finished with an appropriate song - Thank You For The Music!
This concert raised funds for our four nominated charities with 100% of ticket sales (a grand total of over £800) being donated to them. This was an amazing sight to behold and a big thank you for all those who took part in this fund-raising event, whether it was as audience, helper, or choir.
Our delicious refreshments together with our massive tombola, which quickly sold out, raised much needed funds for our choir. This goes towards hosting the evening, music, costumes etc., any surplus going back into our funds for future events.
