Our first charity concert on behalf of Spear Bournemouth.
We started setting up at 3pm and were surprised how many seats we could fit in for the audience. Every chair was used, even the sofas would provide a great space for our families with children. With our choir of 35 we totalled about 200. Home from home!
Our choir sounded amazing and truly enjoyed the experience. We sang a mix of carols and fun Christmas songs with plenty of audience participation.
A particular thank you to our many helpers throughout the evening: setting up; on the door; producing and running the tombola; making cakes and serving refreshments in a very quick and professional way during the interval.
We raised an amazing amount of funds for the charity and choir alike. We saw such generosity and joy in giving and receiving.
Funds raised for Spear on the door and collection is in excess for £1,000. Plus £250 from our collection buckets during the concert.
Profits from the Tombola and Refreshments for much need choir funds is £400.
It was a special evening with such a feeling of joy and fun!!
The event was so amazing. 🤩 thank you 🙏 all for what ever you did to make it so special. It was fantastic having Ella from Spear as the buckets collection was £250. And the door people took a further £520. 65 in extra tickets.
Not a chair spare. Phew !!! My feet and legs are aching but what an amazing evening!
Got home about 11:30 and just smiled. I was buzzing. Mx
We have had lovely comments from audience and charity:
“Thank you for such a joyous, happy evening at the concert yesterday evening. And thank you so much to you and every member of the choir and wider Wessex Chorus family for your hearts for Spear.”
“Thank you Martin for making the concert such a wonderful event. To be part of such a joyous evening where everyone experienced such a good time was very exhilarating and memorable. Well done to everyone. I enjoyed every minute!”
This was sent to me from Ella at Spear:
Martin thank you SO much for such a wonderful evening. You were such a charismatic, brilliant front man and the choir looked like they were having so much fun too! I really appreciated the platform for Spear as well.
LOVED this number particularly - don’t think I’ve ever heard a Neil diamond medley before!
