What a wonderfully festive Christmas evening was enjoyed by all at our main charity fundraising Carol Concert at Immanuel Church Hall.
The audience was treated to a joyful programme of traditional and contemporary festive songs, carols, and readings, ensuring something for everyone. Around 100 people attended, including advance ticket holders and many who joined us on the night, despite some unfortunate absences due to illness.
Although our choir faced significant challenges this winter, with viruses, coughs, and colds reducing our numbers throughout the festive season, they still delivered a truly wonderful - and possibly their best - performance yet. The evening was filled with enjoyment, laughter, and heartfelt singing, beautifully supported by our fantastic accompanist, Ewa.
A very welcome interval of tea, coffee, and delicious homemade treats provided welcome refreshment before an equally enjoyable second half. Our sincere thanks go to all our helpers - from the door and raffle to refreshment service - whose time and support ensured the whole evening ran smoothly and was such a success.
We are delighted to report that ticket sales raised £403 for our charity, Spear, with an additional £98 collected through an impromptu bucket collection - over £500 in total; a fantastic result.
£367 was raised for our choir funds. A big THANK YOU to the hard work and dedication of our fundraising team, and thanks also to those that donated so generously to our raffle. This will help towards the cost of music, costumes and licences etc.
Well done to all our choir members, helpers, and supporters for making it such a special and memorable evening, especially on such a bitterly cold night.
